Shatha earned her PhD in physical chemistry at the University of Saskatchewan and has a decade of experience in innovation, commercialization and investment analysis. Shatha’s role is to connect start-ups in the fields of cleantech and advanced materials with the centre. She works closely with these companies to address their commercialization challenges in terms of technology feasibility and scale-up. Shatha also identifies new market opportunities to the centre.
Before joining Xerox, Shatha was a manager at MaRS Innovation, where she executed license deals of over $1 million of early-stage technologies. She also spun off an IT based company out of the University of Toronto. Shatha has secured over $2 million in non-dilutive funding to commercialize new innovations. Shatha is an active panelist and speaker and serves as an Expert Reviewer with the Ontario Centres of Excellence and a mentor at Futurpreneur. She is fluent in English, French and Arabic. Shatha joined Xerox in 2017.
